A strange land, indeed. The point of the presentation was that the 73 "San
Joaquin" TOLLROAD
is in big trouble,
and would please like to be bailed out by the 241 "Foothill Eastern" TOLLROAD because
it's
"...the only currently viable financial solution...".
Board members were to hear, but not like, another suggestion
from the public: Cut our losses, don't throw good money after bad!

The impressive facade of the TCA belies its shaky financial footing. As they
heard in public comment, maybe the people are trying to tell you something .... TOLLROAD is just a bad idea!
It is not easy to find out when the TCA meets, either,
the Agenda
and Schedules are not posted on the web in readible
format, you had to install each agenda on your own PC to read it -- even then, it was incomplete!
TCA is located at 151 Pacifica, Irvine, from the 405 S. get off at
Sand Canyon, go inland to Barranca Pkwy, turn right to Pacifica, turn left to the dead
end. |

Whoops, is the shadow trying to tell them something?
In the parking lot, a timid rabbit poked its head out of the bushes...this entire monstrosity was, just a while
ago, habitat....now a field for "urban runoff". |

Prostration before the alter of big, big money -- OURS! No matter what the customer
thinks of the bad idea of TOLLROAD, they are going to push it forward despite losses, ridicule, and persistent working-over
from the likes of Merril Lynch and the other Wall Street Gang that helped bankrupt OC to their own personal profit. |

Board members only, says the sign.
Usually, these meetings are unknown to the public, who pays and pays for it all.
Is there any value added for the Taxpayer, considering the massive subsidies, the non-compete agreements, and the
general failure to attract customers?
Not to mention the massive damage done to the habitat. |

You can tell you are in "free market trading land", where everyone
knows that subsidies are to be had for the lobbying, that
the street
means Wall Street Investment Houses and their money, not the man
on the street, and where consistency is the hobgoblin to be
avoided.
TCA TOLLROAD relies
consistently on massive lobbying
for more helping handouts of our Cash
from the US congress and Sacramento. |

Members of the audience during the tense, not to say acrimonious, meeting of the two
boards together. Will two houses of cards stand better than one? Will combining 2 bad ideas make it work better? |
